WEDDINGS

A non-refundable scheduling donation is required to hold your specific date and time and any rehearsal. With a limited number of preferred weekend dates available in any given year, the schedule fills up fast and you must pay a deposit to hold your chosen slot. I will hold the date for several days after our initial meeting before I reopen the date to other couples if I do not receive a deposit from you.

My fee is dependent on the type of ceremony you will be having:

Non-customized wedding ($300) - This is a prewritten ceremony. There is no preliminary meeting* or rehearsal. However, it is performed at your chosen site. The basic elements include a brief introduction ["We are gathered here today for the marriage of..."] with a relevant reading, the taking of simple vows, an optional giving of rings, and a pronouncement of marriage. It's a lovely ceremony that lasts about 5 minutes and you can have it at the location of your choice.  This ceremony is only available at this price in Manhattan (outer Burroughs - slightly higher fee).

A $100 deposit is required to reserve the date and time of the ceremony. The remaining balance plus any other fees must be paid during the week(s) prior to the wedding. (If it is 10 days prior to your wedding date - or less - balance must be paid in cash or money order).

* A telephone consultation is included. However, if you want to schedule a meeting in person, an additional fee of $50 will be applied. 

* Additional charges apply for major holidays.

 

Customized Ceremony ($700+) - All customized ceremonies start at this level. Increases in cost only come about if there are ongoing changes (some changes are expected) or if I am given less than a week to prepare a complex ceremony.

This ceremony is created specifically for you.  The process involves an initial meeting (usually in person but we can also meet by phone or email) and working with you to decide what elements you want in your ceremony. There may be personal references about the couple, their families and/or their friends.  Things that are particularly meaningful to the couple become part of the ceremony. There are unlimited possibilities that can be incorporated into a customized wedding.

Next, I put together a script. This script is tailored to meet your wishes. Once the script is finished I review it with you for your approval. Revisions can be made at this time to ensure that the script is what you want it to be.  The ceremony will normally range from 20 to 30 minutes depending on what you choose to include in your own ceremony.

Rehearsal is included and usually lasts about an 1/2 hour. Please make sure that everyone who is needed will be present.

An initial deposit of $200 is required to reserve the date and time of ceremony. An additional $150 is required after your approval of the script. The final balance, plus any additional fees are due the week(s) prior to the ceremony.  (If it is 10 days prior to your wedding date - or less - balance must be paid in cash or money order).

*Additional charges apply for major holidays.

** Optional travel expenses are added if travel involves more than ~1 hour drive from Manhattan. If travel is expected out of the area, the couple are expected to pay all hospitality and transportation expenses. This includes hotel or other room and board expenses should an overnight stay be required. These hospitality expenses would also apply if very severe weather or other driving related issues should prohibit Rev. Chase from traveling safely.

In addition you will also receive:

  1. Keepsake copy of your wedding ceremony on designer paper.
  2. We can also provide you with a small two-page folded flyer "master" that you can use to print up a program for your wedding guests.

 

 

FUNERALS AND MEMORIAL SERVICES

Price
My fee for a basic funeral or memorial service is $350, which reflects the amount of time it takes to prepare the eulogy. This includes a $100 non-refundable deposit due at our meeting. In addition to the service itself, I will provide a printed copy of the funeral.  Ceremonies outside the metro New York area may incur a travel charge. Gravesite ceremonies can be arranged for an additional cost.

 

 

BABY NAMING OR BAPTISMS

The fee for a Naming Ceremony or Baptism is $300.
 
There is an optional Candle Ceremony included in the Naming and you are presented with the candle and a copy of the ceremony as a memento of the day along with the Naming or Baptism Certificate. Other certificates can be organized for special people in the little one's life (e.g. Uncle, Brother, etc...)

 

 

HOUSE BLESSING

Price

The fee for coming to a person's house and blessing their home ranges from $100 to $300.

 

 

BIRTHDAYS, COMING-OF-AGE, AND GRADUATIONS

My fee for a coming of age ceremony starts at $250.  In addition to the ceremony itself, I will provide a printed copy on designer paper.  Ceremonies outside the metro New York area may incur a travel charge.
